Homework
is an integral and important part of a child's education.
The assignment of homework is based on the following principles:
Homework assists students in improving their academic skills
Homework assists students in the development of study skills.
Homework reinforces the ideas and concepts presented in class
and is based on the goals and objectives of the curriculum.
Homework involves parents/guardians in their child's education
and helps them to monitor progress.
Homework helps students develop values, such as:
responsibility,
independence, time management and perseverance.
Homework
should be assigned to students based upon reasonable expectations
and with the understanding that many students are involved
in a variety of other worthwhile activities outside the school
setting.
